Error while updating firmware

iMac tried to update overnight. Now I have a message "an error occurred while updating firmware". Only option is a restart button that leads back to the same screen. No option to quit the installer. Please help!

Hi KayRoses,

Let's try this:

  1. Restart, and try again.
  2. If it still does not apply the update, restart in Safe Mode. Startup in Safe Mode by restarting, and when the display lights back up, press and hold the "Shift" key. Learn more here: Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support.
