Thanks for the info. I found out I still had 1.2 gig of backups from my iPhone3 on iCloud. No wonder I had a storage space shortage.

See information in: Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

On an iPhone go to Settings > [username] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > [device name] > Delete Backup.
