My file won't stay on my Mac

So I am a motion designer, I have found that once I have got the the rendering stage of working, my files have uploaded to the cloud so my render fails. Is there a way to stop my files automatically uploading?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

Do you have the iCloud Drive enabled and have the option to include the Documents and Desktop folder included?

If so you should have the file you're working on somewhere outside those two folders so they won't automatically be uploaded to the iCloud Drive. When you're finished rendering move it to the location within the Documents folder you normally keep them and let it get uploaded to the iCloud Drive.
