I forgot the passcode on my old iPhone please help

i recently reset my old iphone 6 so i could gift it, however, after doing so i forgot the passcode i used and now it just disables when i try again

This will help you reset the passcode, If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support but before you gift it, you need to do this, What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
