Where does the refund go

Accidentally purchased a word app in App Store immediately canceled and requested refund. Believe refund was given but don’t see it.

Approved refunds normally come to the original payment method, but take up to 30 days for most of them. Click here for more information.

If Apple can't put it back there, you'll likely get it as store credit.
