Move ring not matching Kcals or Awards

Hi guys,

I cycle a lot and the last few times I have been out, I have finished a ride and had notifications that I had completed my Move ring and my watch also tells me that my move streak has been completed.

However, shortly after my ride, I check my rings and the Move ring keeps dropping by a couple hundred. Both my exercise and stand rings are as they should be.

Also, I share my daily info with a friend of mine and he tells me that my Move Ring has been closed. (over 800 kcal, where my watch tells me it is just under 500).

Really weird!

Any help much appreciated.

I have and Apple Watch SE, running it on an Iphone XR. Both devices are up to date with software etc.

I also restarted both my watch and phone and the problem remains.

I use Strava to record my ride so not sure if it is an issue with that, but even that records mileage/ speed/ heart rate perfectly fine.

Thanks!

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
