storage

my 64GB iphone keeps giving me notifications that storage is full. i have tried everything. i deleted 3 GB from my gallery, restart, sw update, deleted or offloaded some apps, but the storage summary didn't change.

when i connected the phone to my laptop, itunes showed that 26 GB are available.

any ideas on how to solve this?

iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 14

iCloud by default only has 5GB of storage space for your backup.

When you get a popup message on your iPhone or iPad that the storage is full.

Look closely storage of iPhone and iCloud.

You cannot increase storage of iPhone. However you can optimise iPhone Storage by using iCloud Storage. SaveĀ spaceĀ on your device

Settings > [your name] > iCloud Tap Photos > ChooseĀ OptimizeĀ [device]Ā Storage Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support

iCloud storage is primarily for keeping a copy of your iPhone data safely on cloud. If you delete data on iPhone, data on iCloud is gone.

iPhone Storage (Setting > General > iPhone Storage)

  1. Total storage remains same through out life span of the iPhone
  2. Storage can not be enhanced
  3. You may take back up on Mac or PC using iTunes without iCloud

iCloud Storage (Settings > [Tap your name] > iCloud)

  1. By default every user gets 5GB of free storage space
  2. You can buy more storage based on your requirement 50, 200GB, 2TB with monthly subscription
  3. Based on your storage capacity you can back up iPhone or iPad
  4. The space can be shared between your family members for storage plan beyond 200GB

thank you dear,

i am not looking to optimize my storage nor to increase my iCloud capacity.

my question is: why is it when i delete something off my device, the storage still is full? i got a notification that the device (not icloud) is low on space, so i went to settings and deleted some apps, yet the storage remained full.

Example: i had 6 GB of photos, i deleted some 300 MB, the remaining photos were still 6GB, not 5.7GB

also when i connected to my laptop, itunes showed that i had more than 20 GB of free space.

i am sorry but i don't see how your post answered those questions.
