My husband recently lost his job. They let him keep his phone so we transferred his phone to my account. I got him his own Apple ID cause his old one had his old work email, which they took away. So he cannot sign on and change user ID . Now his phone keeps saying sign in but he can’t because it’s his old ID. I just want to get his new ID on his phone.

Can he enable two factor authentication from Settings > his name Password and Security?
If not, he’ll need proof of ownership, like the receipt from buying the iPhone brand new and to “Start an Activation Lock support request.” from https://al-support.apple.com/#/kbase (may need his old work to do this if they bought it)
At Settings > his name > Sign Out > can he Sign Out of iCloud and Store?

That’s unfortunate. ID at least try reaching out to them about removing it. Otherwise a new phone would be next because of the security iCloud Find My is designed for.
That would be for i cloud Find My. He’ll need to type in the password. If he forgot it he can try to reset the password first following https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201487
Nope I tried. 2 ways to reset. Asks for birthdate. I did it says it’s wrong.. which makes sense cause his company must have created an Apple ID for the hundreds of employees and probably made the same birthdate for all. The other way is send to email and he doesn’t have that email since it’sa company email
He cannot. His old job was construction with over 200 employees they supplied everyone with iPhones. After 30 years they didn’t want him and they let him keep his phone number. I should have done this Apple login right away but I didn’t. I guess I might have to just buy another phone.
After he signs out it asks for a pw to sign out of look for iPhone (something like that). I even tried to reset the phone it still wants a Pw to do that!
I have tried this. Keeps on popping up to put in his password ( old ID). Will not take his old password and I cannot reset.
After selecting to sign out it wants you to enter his password for the Apple ID that used his work email?
The email address (appleID) on my husbands phone is not his email anymore, how can he change his Apple ID on his phone.
