What happens when you try to make calls?
Does the iPhone show you connected to cellular / mobile service? It should show signals bars at the top right, and if you swipe down from the top right corner, it should show your service provider's name on the top left side of the screen.
Did you activate cell service with your carrier? Or did you move your SIM card from an older iPhone?
Now I'm nervous. I ordered my new phone online through my provider. They walked me through the steps to trade in my phone and wipe all info. off. I did nothing with a sim chip. When I try to make a call, my provider has a message saying they are unable to complete my call. When someone calls me, it goes directly to voicemail. Help.
Then contact your provider. Sounds like something is not right with your line and provisioning on the iPhone.
Your provider should have migrated your service, but if the calls are going directly to voice mail that happens on your providers side, so the issue may lie on their side.
May be a SIM card issue.
