Still having major problems connecting to websites after Big Sur 11.3 update.

I've tried just about everything recommended online. I can't connect to specific web sites and pages are continually loading when I can access them. Does anyone know what I need to do? This is affecting my ability to do my job--I teach online.

Make sure your Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Networking -> port selected that is active -> Advanced -> Proxies has the settings recommended by your institution when you are on VPN.

Make sure you use only the VPN recommended by your institution.

If there is no VPN, and you are not using the internet service provider's own modem for network connectivity, try to connect directly to the modem and see if the wireless or wired router is not configured correctly on its firewall.

Don't use third party firewall software.

Don't use Symantec Security software, as Broadcom has taken over the software, and added firewall features for that software that don't work with specific corporate and educational environments under Catalina and later systems. In the organization I work with, we had to switch to Carbon Black to avoid issues.

This helps a little. I'm thinking it must be something with the modem in my building. I live on a property with several lines to connect to. We have fast firer optic and I never had an issue before I updated. I'm not using a VPN.

I don't know what 'symantec software' is.....but I use Salesforce for all of my scheduling and payroll and ever since the update it's one of the sites I can't connect to.

I'm in Mexico. I'll try to plug into the modem directly and see what happens.
