music app big sur upgrade

I just upgraded to Big Sur. Now when I open the Music App, this window pops up.

I don't want to join Apple Music.

I just want to listen to the music on my hard drive.

Is there any way around this without joining apple music? Or is it time to find a new media player?

You can use your own Music Library without an Apple Music subscription:

  1. On the Music app go to Account » Authorize this Computer (you will be asked to sign in)
  2. After Sign in Account » View my Account and press the Reset (Reset all warnings fro Buying...) button at the bottom.
  3. If after this you still cannot do anything, quit the Music app, open it again go to Account » Sign Out and click on the Start Listening, it will ask for a plan and hit Cancel.

You should be back to normal, if not there's Big Sur upgrade issue with corrputed files on your User/System.

Be sure to have your System up to date 11.3.1(20E241). Let me know.
