Hi ive been having this same issue for the past few days.
I’ve restarted my phone, closed down the app, signed out and back into iTunes, reset network settings.. still not working and just says ‘not playing’
Really not happy about paying for a service that isn’t working
Thanks for letting us know more about this, aidenjager. Let’s continue by taking the following steps, which may help with this unexpected behavior. Restart your iPhone, make sure it is up to date and close/reopen the Music app.
2. Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
3. Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch
Also, does this happen with downloaded songs or just one you stream through Apple Music? Have you tested on a different network, regardless of if it seems yours is working okay?

No errors. It just says not playing at the bottom and when I try to press a song it doesn’t do anything. It registers that I am pressing on the song but that’s about it.
I ended up just deleting the music app and reinstalling it and that seems to of worked so far. Lost all the downloads and had to redownload all the songs. The library did save
If that’s the only solution then I’m going to cancel and go to Spotify. Having to re download every song is going to take hours so may as well do it with an app that works
What telephone do you use?
I had a similar problem when trying to listen to music via CarPlay.
Maybe this is related to the telephone
iPhone 11. Yeah it doesn’t work on car play that’s how I first noticed there was a problem. I thought it was my car that was the issue but I can’t play songs from my phone at all
Then I would suggest you upgrade the software to the latest version. After the upgrade these issues disappeared
I updated last night and I’m still having the same issue
