I don't know specifically what the usb port (is port what you call the place in which a cable is inserted?) is in my 2021 Toyota Corolla and Toyota doesn't know either. I'm looking for a lightning cable (recommended to me) to use so I can use Apple CarPlay. There is a "port" below the radio.
Then I saw online that there are USB a and USB c cords. How do I know what to buy?

Phil0124: Thank you so much for your help. From looking at the charging cord the USB is type A. So, I can search for a lightning cord that is compatible with a type A port. And trust me, I have called the dealer, I wrote the corporate office and read every manual they have. There is no specification of the USB port. Frustrating.

I find it hard to believe Toyota does not know what kind of port there is in their own cars.

Yes, the place where you plug in a cable is called a port.
Your Corolla probably has a regular USB-A port. But to be sure, you would need to take picture of it and post it here, or see in the user manual how it identifies the port or compare it to the following pic:

Try to find images from usb A port and USB C port and see which one match the port on your car, the small one is usb c.
