I have an iMac late 2013 and running Catalina V10.15.7 and cant turn off voice when typing. I installed the Railroads game and followed their prompts now I can get the voice to stop as I type in other applications. Feedback?
Try starting up in Save Mode followed by a normal Restart to see if that helps.

If not, try quitting, updating or uninstalling the Railroad game follow by another Safe Mode and normal Restart.
Command F5 should turn VoiceOver on/off.
Or go to, Apple > System Preferences > Accessibility > VoiceOver and un-check Enable VoiceOver.
I did a OS reinstall but it is still there. I will do the double /triple check later on when I get home. Thank you for that. If not successful I will have to go thru the extensions separately but I am unsure of how to do that. More youtube videos
I have tried both methods many times and still no success. I have had to mute the voice over so I don't get distracted when working
For the second method, maybe you had to double or triple-click the check.
