With an iPhone 12, can I have my battery percentage left displayed on the Home Screen?

No, you can't. To see the percentage available, you swipe down from upper right corner and look at it in Control Center. Otherwise, the battery graphic is what you get on the lock screen and it gives a good reference of battery status.
