Can I use the iPhone 12 or iPhone 11 to film goldfish in a bowl?

Looking at the iPhone 11/12 specification is says both phones are water resistant for better than 2m for 10 minutes

  • Looking at the apple page https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207043 it says to avoid "Intentionally submerging your iPhone in water"
  • So which is it? Can I use the iPhone to record a goldfish in a bowl or not?

As you have seen, while Apple markets the device as “water resistant” (not waterproof), they do warn against any immersion in water. They also warn that any water damage will not be covered by the warranty.
