Big Sur permissions apply to enclosed items greyed out

Hello all...

Climbing the mountain for all the advice I can get.

Why is it then On Catalina, Apply to enclosed items works and Big Sur is all grey.

I copy between Macs all day long... Yet some folders I have admin access, on both macs, but the permissions are a mess on the Big Sur Home level.

For Catalina I have been able to align the home directory... all perms are the same. Me, Staff, Everyone, Admin. on Big Sur, Surly not.

How then does one align one's home directory.

All, Talked to a Apple support guy... They recommend https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-up-file-sharing-on-mac-mh17131/11.0/mac/11.2.2 to set up shared folders instead of using Finder based connections to other macs.

It is greyed out on my home folder as well, but not on subfolders of it.

It may have something to do with the fact that the home folder has some extended attributes that the other folders don't have.

How come the folders' permissions became a mess in the first place?

Yep, it is the same here... sub folders are available for the apply. Catalina, did the apply to home in 3 minutes. I have no explanation. The mess only has been since Big Sur was updated on one mac in the house. An empirical observation. Thanks for the reply.
