My recent calls not syncing to my car

My recent calls are not syncing to my car. i have an iphone 11 xs max

When my phone is connected to Bluetooth in the car, and I click on my recent calls (incoming & outgoing) and the recent call/recieve lists on the car screen are blank. my contacts show up but no recent call activity. the only activity to show are calls i make while in the car. these calls disappear when i disconnect the phone from the car and reconnect (example: leaving car parked overnight) i never had this issue with my android phones. I am on IOS 14.8. Why is this happening? Is there a sync issue when connecting to Bluetooth via the car?

My car does not have CarPlay. Why would I need CarPlay in order for the phone to transfer my recent calls to my car? Also I don’t understand why does my Bluetooth keep starting up on its own. I don’t always need my phone connected to my car every time I drive it Appreciate the help

Once you have paired the iPhone to the car, it will always pair to the car. That is how it works for both the iPhone and the car. If you do not wish to have it connect to the vehicle via Bluetooth, you would need to turn off Bluetooth temporarily on the iPhone. Do that from Control Center.

As far as the Recent Calls is concerned, check Settings>Bluetooth>your vehicle, and click on the blue (i) a the end of the line. It should show you the options for your car. If it shows that it will sync your Recent Calls and is not, try powering the phone off and back on again. You may also need to try unpairing the iPhone from the car and removing the car from the Bluetooth list on the phone and pairing them back again.

Also, there is no iOS 14.8 for the iPhone.
