Eject Lacie external hard drive

How do I eject a Lacie external portable hard drive from my new MacBook Pro? I am using the time machine with the "Back Up Automatically" checked. The icon is left on the desk top screen and does not have a category item to either back up now or eject the hard drive.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.4

You can't eject a backup automatically drive. You can set it up to give you an option to manually activate backup from the menu bar in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Time Machine.

You can also shut down a drive, and disconnect it after no life appears on the computer.
