Since the update to MacOS 11.5.2, the Time Machine Icon will not appear in the Menu Bar. The option in the Time Machine Window will not allow selection, it does nothing when you click it. I have formatted my Time Machine Disk, but it still will not allow it to be selected, even after a new backup has completed. Does anybody have any ideas as to why?

The actual Time Machine disk has nothing to do with it, but some preference file might. Or, perhaps more likely, some third party software is blocking it.
Restart in Safe Mode. Are you able to turn the icon on while in Safe Mode? If so, does it remain after you restart normally?
The point @ Luis S. has made is a very real possibility and bears investigating. To that Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS, alter, modify, remove or delete or attempt to do so is an invitation for disaster and may require a Reinstallation of the OS.
