Apple watch series 6 strap

My original apple watch s6 strap cannot fit the base as I did not hear any “click” sound. I tried using other straps and it works. I believe the original strap is the issue. What should i do?

how it clicks into the lock

you can try looking at your strap and see if some of the notches have been damaged which could explain how it will not "click"
