Apple ID

So I’m trying to update an app and when I click update it prompts me to put in my Apple ID password which I have forgotten. So I clicked the forgot password option. Once I clicked this it told me to enter my iPhone’s passcode to which I did and it’s saying that it’s WRONG but I know for a fact it’s not as I’m writing this on my iPhone right now. I even changed my passcode to see if that would work but unfortunately it’s still saying it is wrong. So then it has me verify my phone number to which I put in the correct phone number and when I do this it does nothing and has me enter it a second time. After I do that it gives me an error saying that it can’t be done at this time

Enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.
