Merge music libraries

I don't really know how I've managed to do this but ...

I have an ageing iPod which has ALL my music on it, which I can see when I connect my iPod to my iMac and my MBP, but ...

Somehow I have created a new music library on my iMac and MBP which is empty!

Can I sync my iPod TO my iMac and MBP (the only option I can find is sync FROM which warns me it will delete all content on my iPod and replace it with the content - nothing - on my iMac/MBP)?

Thanks ...

Syncing is a one-way street FROM the computer TO the device. Did you recently subscribe to Apple Music? If not, perhaps your music library on the MBP got moved somehow.

Switch libraries with the Apple Music app in macOS - Apple Support

If worse comes to worse you can try one of these solutions:

Recover your iTunes library from your iPo… - Apple Community

But don't get your hopes up.
