Does the Series 3 send and receive text messages if you are not near your iphone?
Technically speaking the GPS only version can still receive texts without your phone if the watch is within range of a known Wi-Fi network, meaning a network that your phone has joined previously, and not one that requires a login webpage to authenticate.
With the GPS version of the watch you have to have your phone with you.
Only if it's the cellular version of the watch.
