Lossless downloads for music

I use i Tunes frequently and I would like to know if music that I've purchased can be downloaded in lossless (ALAC) format? I know ALAC is offered in Apple Music but I don't believe I can copy my downloads onto a CD as I do with i Tunes. Thanks.

Windows, Windows 6

Hank,

Whoops, I missed part of your question. If you have an Apple Music subscription, you can download lossless files for offline listening. They will be playable as long as your subscription is active, but cannot be burned to CD or converted to any other format.

Hank,

The recent lossless announcement from Apple applies only to the streaming service. Lossless downloads are not available from the iTunes Store.

You can purchase lossless or hi-res downloads from other sources such as HDTracks.com or Qobuz.com, and add them to your iTunes/Music library.
