access to iCloud+ custom email domain using standard IMAP and SMTP client?

Can you access your iCloud Email that uses a custom domain (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212514) using a regular IMAP and SMTP client, like Thunderbird? I am trying using the settings here: https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT202304 but always failing to authenticate using my full email address as the username, and either an app-specific generated password or my iCloud password.

Figured it out. You have to authenticate with your primary iCloud account username, the one that ends with @icloud.com.
