Difficulty downloading

What do I do if I purchased a song on iTunes, but is says Downloading in gray and never actually says Purchased or Play? I don't even seem to have an option of repurchasing, since it is grayed out.

iMac, OS X 10.11

Thanks for the follow-up info. Let's look a little further now. Does this issue persist after restarting the computer? Also, you can try force closing the Music app (or iTunes depending on your macOS), and re-open it to test this issue. The steps to do so are found here:

There are no icons next to the song. I downloaded a number of songs off of a particular album and all of the rest of them now say purchased or play. But, this one particular song says downloading and is grayed out. It’s obviously not still downloading as this purchase was attempted yesterday. I can’t seem to do anything to make a change in it.
