memory card

Hi everyone. I wanted to ask about a memory card I bought for my iMac. I have a late 2009 model. I saw on apple's website that I can use a SO-DIMMs 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM card. So I bought that one. But It won't fit in the slots. I've since noticed after checking to see if I did get the wrong one, that under my systems information it actually says my iMac will take a 1067 MHz DDR3. So now I'm confused why Apple's website told me one thing when my system's information is saying another. I'm going to assume that the 1067 MHz card is what I need, can anyone confirm this?

According to this from Apple, the 1066MHz DDR3 SO-DIMM SDRAM module is correct. It's exactly the same thing that OWC specifies. The 1067MHz spec that you've found is a rounding error.

The memory slots of the Mac are "keyed" to allow the module to fit only one way into the slot. Closely examine the slot and orient the notch of the module to slip in appropriately. The fit may be snug at the bottom and a rather substantial push might be required to get the module to seat fully.

Actually, I did buy the card from OWC, I got the information from Apple's site but I didn't buy from them. OWC also tells me I need to get 1066MHz DDR3 but that's not what fits. Maybe I'm not doing something right, I keep trying to push the card in but it won't go in. I do have an old computer and this is the first time I'm upgrading the memory. Their website does not carry 1067 MHz from what I can see.
