I have a 21.5 inch late 2013 inch iMac w/ the 2.7Ghz Intel i5 proc. I want to upgrade the RAM from the current 2x 4Gb DDR3 to something larger. I understand that this supposedly a non user suggested upgrade. I just want to know if I can put something larger than 8Gb DDR3's in each slot, and can I use an 1866 Mhz DDR3 instead of the 1600 that it says

No 2x8 16GB is the max, plus you would need Mac tested 1600MHz DDR3 PC3-12800 modules and a display reseal kit.

FWIW, your iMac has a 16GB limit and there's no advantage in trying to use faster RAM.

That's actually not true. A user can use the same procedure an AASP would. They probably shouldn't, but they can.
