2020 M1 Mac MINI using (mid) 2011 (12,2) 27" iMac screen as the monitor (only one)?

I'm looking at a 2020 M1 Mac MINI and hope to use my (mid) 2011 (12,2) 27" iMac screen as the monitor (only one). It sounds like even with the correct adapters to connect the "Thunderbolt 3 / USB 4.0-3.1 Gen 2 supports Display Port, Thunderbolt 2, HDMI, DVI, VGA with Adaptor." as stated in the MINI Specs. to my Thunderbolt 2 port on my iMac, this won't work. Is this correct? Is there any other way to make this work?

iMac 27″, macOS 10.13

No new Mac including the 2020 M1 Mac Mini can use a supported iMac as a hardwired display.

There are other network options, but you will need an external display to setup a new Mac Mini.
