how do I recycle an old iMac?
I have a 2006 iMac that no longer works and I would like to have it recycled rather than through it in the trash. How do I go about doing this (I am not trading my old iMac for a new one)

I have a 2013 iMac that has ceased working (probably a power supply issue). As it trips the power circuit each time I try to turn it on I've been unable to remove my data from it. Does Apple (or another company) provide a service where I can confidently know the data has been erased and the computer recycled?
You can trust Apple Trade In: Apple Trade In - Apple. They offer free recycling.
Jack
Or you can use Apple Recycling Programs

Google for your local electronic’s recycling center and/or electronic’s retailer that excepts computers.
