Do I need to transfer SIM card from iPhone7 to iPhone SE for Verizon to work?

Yes, if you want to continue with Verizon as your provider.

Keeping the same phone number is also handy, you don't have to change anything, such as your trusted number at Apple, for your contacts and others.
