iCloud won't store my Desktop and Documents folder

When I try to turn it on, it claims I have too many files or too many nested folders to store desktop and documents in iCloud. Not very helpful.

Is there really no other way to backup a MacBook to iCloud? (I have 2TB of storage - more than enough to hold the files I need)

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.0

You may be able too fix the sync issue by:

  1. Signing out/in to icloud
  2. Temporarily moving all of your desktop and documents files to your downloads folder, then moving smaller groups back into place to sync.

And, be sure to keep a good Time Machine backup of your files
