I have bought my iPhone in a Macstore in Mexico. Can I use this iPhone with a SIMcard in USA?

Is the iPhone unlocked? It would need to be to be able to use a US SIM. Understand that it may not support all of the bands used in the US, and the warranty is only good in Mexico.
