Since you removed all my music from my phone on the last upgrade, I am missing some of my not well known music that is not available on Apple Music. Guess it is lost to me now? What purpose is Apple Match for me if we pay for Apple Music monthly?

Ideally you would have made sure that your own files were successfully matched or uploaded, and have kept a complete copy of your collection on at least one computer or hard drive in case anything was deleted in error at some future point in time.
