HomePod mini won't update. Saying "Could not Complete the operation." And intercom won't work from HomePod to phone...saying that there are no compatible devices.

Need help with my new HomePod mini. Originally noticed my intercom would not sent announcements to my iPhone or AirPods or watch. Just says there are no devices available. Then noticed that it won't update even though an update is available. Just says that it could not complete the operation. I have done a full reset and reinstall with the same issues.

Ahh, I see there are two “Sound Check” settings; I had changed the “Media” Sound Check setting found in the main “Homes” Home setting which appears to be a universal Sound Check setting but not sure. Anyway, There was a Sound Check setting in each speaker’s settings, under Music & Podcasts. I enabled that one and the update worked. I did also change the Siri “voice” (to Australian) because I read an old article (2018) that mentioned that also.

In the end though, I cannot help but think it was more just waiting for the HomePod mini to “settle-in” with Apple and fix itself…
