I am not sure what changed, but if I copy text in an iOS app and then go to safari to paste it in the empty address bar, I do not get a “paste” option; only “scan text”. Has something changed, or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks- that was exactly the problem. Apparently, when you copy text out of a pdf opened through the gmail app, it isn’t placed into the clipboard - at least: not as text. All other apps I tried work fine.
