Is there a way to take a picture while wearing gloves *without* Siri?

For skiing, hiking, and many other sports gloves are required. And Siri doesn't work without a data connection so using Siri to open the camera isn't an option (and isn't nearly fast enough anyway).

On Android this is doable with the power + volume buttons.

OK, I have the solution. Go to Settings/Accessibility/Touch and assign one of the Back Tap actions to open the camera. Then press the Side button once, and double (or triple) tap the back to open the Camera. Then the Volume buttons will work.

This can help, but comes with a usage caveat.

I have running gloves that I purchased before my iPhone, these gloves have index finger and thumb with special padding to make it work on smartphone ... and they do work. Many glove makers create this option for winter or sports activities. Google "smartphone gloves".

CAVEAT: If you get them, do not think you should do "phone can get wet" activities without proper precautions. Another poster reported a phone dropped in the snow while sledding ... water damage.
