What are you trying to stream?

Not all streaming services create AirPlay streams that are compatible with Apple TV (2nd generation) (2010). Such streaming services may require a later model for AirPlay compatibility. E.g.:

- Apple TV+ requires Apple TV (3rd generation or later),

- Disney+ requires Apple TV (3rd generation or later) for AirPlay,

- HBO Max requires s Apple TV (4th generation or later) for AirPlay,

- Netflix doesn’t do AirPlay at all anymore.

Troubleshooting Airplay

Apple TVs do not Aìrplay themselves. They can receive content Airplayed from another device to them and display it onto the connected TV screen. But they cannot themselves Airplay to other devices.
