Paper clip icon (“Attach”)

The paper clip icon disappeared. When I want to attach something to a text or email, the icon is not in its usual place and nowhere to be found. Can anyone help with this?

Hello there kind Bot,

Yes, of course I know how to attach items. That’s NOT my problem. My problem is that the paperclip icon (or ANY icon) is NOT VISIBLE — either in the text or Email app on my iPhone 12.
