How can I setup file sharing with another user on my mac and at the same time have those files on icloud?

Hello, I am trying to setup a folder where my wife and I can share files on our Macbook (we share a single one).

But, I would like for those files to be in the cloud "as well", on iCloud.

I can't setup a folder that is under the "documents" folder that can be shared, and the "Public" folder is not selectable to be on iCloud.

Is there an alternative?
