Selling iPhone 12 with sim card in it

Do I need to remove my sim card when selling my iphone 12 or can I leave it in the phone since I'm getting a new phone from carrier?

Remove the card, otherwise the new owner could use your phone number. If you are using the same cellular provider for the new phone, you could install the card in the new phone.
