Since it's been colder lately ive taken to wearing gloves, and it's made it difficult to unlock my phone while out and about. I can’t activate the passcode screen without going through the camera, and just pressing the home button doesnt do anything. Is there an easier way to go about this?

If you are not able to use the Touch ID then the next option is to use Passcocde. You can use either at any time.

The make "smart phone gloves" with finger pads that simulate human skin. I have a pair and they work pretty well. Target, Kohl's, JC Penney probably carry them.
Is there a way to have both fingerprint and passcode options in the lock screen?
