there is no Check for Updates iTunes

On Windows 10, in iTunes 12.12 under Help, there is no "Check For Updates". iTunes is working great but shouldn't I see this option somewhere? In preferences "Check for New Software Updates" is checked. I have not noticed in a couple of years iTunes to update.

Thanks for helping. I downloaded iTunes on a Windows Vista almost a decade ago. On subsequent PCs it was installed from my external Seagate backup drive. Is the latest iTunes Version 12.12.2.2?

It is 12.12.2.2 (today, 5th February 2022).

Although your original download on the Vista machine may have been directly from Apple, it's possible that you clicked on a link that means that you are now using the Microsoft Store version. It's easy to do since Apple seem to want everyone to use the Microsoft Store version and have ways of steering people there.
