IMAC OS 10.10.5 upgrade

I have an old IMAC (mid 2011). The OS is yosemite 10.10.5 and does not support some newer software. Is there an upgrade that I can get to help solve this or am I just stuck with an old IMAC. When I check for updates to this OS - none are found

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and click on El Capitan or High Sierra; it's not capable of Mojave or above. If you get a Mac App Store preview page, change the https at the beginning of its address to macappstore.
