Macbook Pro recognizes built-in display as external monitor since Monterey 12.3.1 update

Since i updated to the latest version of Monterey (12.3.1) my Macbook Pro recognizes its built-in display as an external monitor. Because of that the brightness is not adjustable, it won't go into sleep when closing the lid and the display appears to be lagging. Also when I start up the Mac the Memojis of the differnet users are frozen. (Usually they'd move when you towards them with the pointer.) I tried reinstalling Monterey - didn't work. I tried restarting the PRAM and the SMC - wouldn't help. Does anyone have similar issues or knows a solution to this problem?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.3

Startup toSafe Mode, then restart normally.

If that didn’t help, then use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac.

If that does not help, then get expert service and support at the Genius Bar.
