Fall detection

For apple watch se and apple watch that has fall detection feature how far does it detect your phone when you don't have cellular plan to make an emergency phone call if you fall? I mean to send emergency 🆘 to your family or emergency 🆘 to 911? When it says your phone has to be near by means how many meters has to be or feet? Thanks! I am planning to get a apple watch for my mom.

To use Emergency SOS on an Apple Watch that doesn't have cellular, your iPhone needs to be nearby. If your iPhone isn't nearby, your Apple Watch needs to be connected to a known WI-FI network and you must set up WI-FI calling. Normal Bluetooth range for the Apple Watch is around 33 feet / 10 meters (this will vary in practice due to wireless interference).
