My WiFi doesn’t let me backup my iPhone, or install updates. Is there a way I can use my Unlimited Cell Phone Data?

My WiFi Network won’t let me backup my iPhone. Don’t tell me to connect it to my MacOS box as a solution.

Not on an iPhone 7.


To be able to backup over cellular data, you need an iPhone 12 or 13 connected to 5G.

Perhaps fixing your Wi-Fi so you can update through it would be a better approach.
