merge iphone and Mac calendars and contacts

I have different calendars and different contacts on my iPhone and iMac (Mojave) (each device has unique data) and I want to merge/sync them . If I turn on iCloud for calendars and contacts on both devices, will I lose the unique data from one or the other device? Or will information from both devices merge and be loaded into iClould?

iPhone 6s, iOS 13

WaukJiM,

When you enable syncing for your contacts and calendars, you'll get prompted with the option to merge the items from your device with iCloud.

Set up iCloud Contacts

When you turn on iCloud Contacts, all of the information* stored on separate devices uploads to iCloud. If you turn off iCloud Contacts, your information won't automatically move from iCloud back to your device.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
2. Turn on Contacts.
3. When you're asked if you want to Merge or Cancel, tap Merge.

All of the information stored in Contacts uploads to iCloud.

Hopefully that addresses your inquiry.

Take care.

Hello WaukJiM,

It's important to know if the reason you have differing data on your two devices is because you have two different iCloud accounts?

This article shows where to go on each device to sign into iCloud, but the same steps can be used to see what iCloud account you're currently using on each device:

Best Regards.
