Security Lockout

My iphone XR is in security lockout mode. Do I have to erase it to unlock it? If this is the case, Is there a possibility to back it up it before erasing it.

You’ll have to reset and erase the device. There is no way to back it up, the data is already lost upon lockout. If you use 15.2 or later you can erase from the screen. Otherwise If you forgot your iPhone passcode - Apple Support
